The Wishing Elephant is a women-owned, founder-led children’s clothing brand based in New Hampshire, making original graphic tees and sweatshirts for kids since 2009. Every design is created and printed in-house. We ship across the US and internationally
The Wishing Elephant began in 2009 at my kitchen table with a three-month-old baby and a sewing machine. I had just been laid off from my teaching job during the Great Recession, and I needed a way to contribute financially while still being home with my son. I started by sewing eco-felt designs onto white baby onesies and photographing them on my own child.
The early days were slow. Every sale mattered. Every new design felt like a small risk. I reinvested everything back into fabric, supplies, and better equipment. What began as a necessity slowly became something bigger than I ever expected.
Over the years, The Wishing Elephant grew into an independent children’s clothing brand focused on original graphic t-shirts and sweatshirts designed to celebrate the humor and magic of childhood. Our designs are playful, nostalgic, and meant to feel both comfortable and memorable. Many of our customers tell us they save their favorite pieces as keepsakes long after their children outgrow them.
